Anxiety & Depression Therapy

Anxiety can feel like a mind that won’t turn off or a body always on alert. Depression can make everyday tasks feel heavy and joy feel out of reach. Many people experience both at the same time, with symptoms like racing thoughts and low energy, worry and loss of interest. At Emberhaven, our licensed clinicians help you understand what’s happening, learn practical skills, and rebuild a life that feels calmer, steadier, and more connected. Sessions are available in person in Greensboro and High Point or via secure telehealth across North Carolina.

Find relief and feel like yourself again.

Signs You May Need Help

How We Treat Anxiety & Depression

Your plan is tailored and evidence-based. We often start with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to map patterns and practice more helpful thoughts and behaviors. For low mood, Behavioral Activation restores momentum through small, do-able actions that reliably lift energy. For anxiety and OCD features, we use supported exposure and, when indicated, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help the brain relearn safety without relying on avoidance or rituals. Mindfulness and grounding calm the nervous system and improve sleep and focus; ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) helps you move toward what matters even while symptoms are present. We also draw on DBT-informed skills for emotion regulation and family/systems-informed work when relationship patterns are part of the problem. If medication might help, we will coordinate with your prescriber at your request.

Anxiety & Depression Therapy Sessions At Emberhaven

Most people start with weekly sessions, tapering as skills stick. Session one sets clear goals and two small targets for the week. For anxiety, we’ll build a graded practice plan and reduce avoidance; for depression, we’ll stabilize sleep, movement, and connection while challenging harsh self-talk. As progress builds, we space sessions and add brief check-ins during stress points.

We offer appointments in Greensboro and High Point and via telehealth across NC when that format supports privacy and engagement. We accept most major insurances, verify benefits up front, and review costs before you begin.
